Carpenter’s Apprentice: Year 3 or 4
Roles & Responsibilities:
This position will push you from apprenticeship through to professional carpentry. Apprenticeship at thinkBright involves mentored learning in all aspects of carpentry, from foundations to framing to finishing. You will work closely with a Red Seal carpenter and have lots of room to grow.
In your role with thinkBright, you will work with our team to:
- Assist in construction of new homes to Step 5 of the BC Energy Step Code
- Learn through hands on experience about how to implement Deep Energy Retrofits including replacement of windows and doors, over-insulation, and air-sealing.
- help to build and be part of a company-wide team approach to construction.
The Essentials: This position requires, at minimum, that you are in your 3rd or 4th year of an accredited apprenticeship program. You also need to have:
The Basics:
- a valid drivers’ license and reliable vehicle;
- the ability to communicate via email and/or text during regular working hours;
- a complete carpenter’s tool belt;
- and be physically capable of regular construction duties such as:
- working on elevated structures
- lifting and carrying 50+ pounds
Wages commensurate with experience, and will be a living wage for our region. We offer an excellent health and benefits package.
